NASA-Microsoft to bring Mars closer home with HoloLens

The US space agency and tech giant Microsoft have teamed up to create " Destination: Mars ", a guided tour of Mars using the same Hololens headset technology that helps scientists plan the Curiosity rover's activities on Red Planet . It will offer people a guided tour of an area of Mars with astronaut Buzz Aldrin this summer in an interactive exhibit using the Microsoft HoloLens mixed reality headset. “ Mixed reality ” means that virtual elements are merged with the user's actual environment, creating a world in which real and virtual objects can interact. The "Destination: Mars" exhibit will open at NASA ’s Kennedy Space Center's visitor complex in Florida this summer, the US space agency said in a statement. Mi 5: Xiaomi launches new flagship phone at Rs 24,999 in India

Chinese smartphone maker has finally launched its new flagship smartphone - Mi 5 - in India. While the phone comes in three storage options, the company has introduced only the 32 GB variant in India at a price of Rs 24,999. Xioami's latest flagship phone will go on sale in India from April 6. It will be available on Mi.com. The Xiaomi Mi 5, which is the successor to the Mi 4, is said to be inspired by the design of the Mi Note. The new phone features curved edges and sports a slim metal frame with a 3D ceramic body which is claimed to be durable, wear resistant, and feels like marble. As Xiaomi VP Hugo Barra explains, the 3D ceramic body is 75 per cent more expensive than 3D glass. Touted to be "insanely fast", the Mi 5 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 64-bit quad-core chipset, which is the latest Snapdragon processor in the market and is claimed to offer 200 per cent improved performance with 50 per cent reduction in power consumption.
