Fan Remake of Original Metal Gear Solid Proposed for PC

It's been 16 years since Metal Gear Solid arrived on the PC, but a fan of the series is interested in creating a modern port of the game with Unreal Engine 4 only if publisher Konami is okay with it. Alongside a bunch of people, Dublin-based 24-year-old Airam Hernandez Alvarez is hard at work on an unofficial recreation of the 1998 stealth game - called 'Shadow Moses' and has produced a trailer to gauge community interest and corporate reaction. Writing on the game's Facebook page, Hernandez said: The team behind Shadow Moses is clearly wary of how these things generally end. It'll be interesting to see how Konami reacts to this, though if the Silent Hill - P.T. debacle is anything to go by then expect the Japanese company to nip it in the bud.  Or they might look at this as a way to change their outlook. With the amount of bad press the publisher has received from the disillusioned gaming community after the abject treatment of Hideo Kojima - terming his depar...

Insufficient Towers Linked to Poor Mobile Services: Trai

The lack of adequate number of mobile towers was one of the reasons for deteriorating quality of mobile services, officials of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) said in Kolkata on Monday. "Lack of adequate number of mobile towers is one of the reasons for deteriorating quality of mobile services," said Agneshwar Sen, advisor for Trai. Sen said the guidelines for EMF radiations from BTS (base transceiver station) and mobile handsets in India were very stringent compared to other countries, including benchmarked standards of developed nations. Allaying fears of the public, Suresh Kumar Gupta, principal advisor for Trai, stressed that the Indian government through Trai and the telecom department has put in place and "implemented stringent emission norms that ensure no adverse effects on human health from mobile tower emissions". "Mobile tower radiations are nothing more than radio waves whose energy and frequency levels were far too low or weak...

Microsoft to Launch Its 'Last Lumia' on February 1

Microsoft is reportedly gearing to launch its next and what is believed to be the  "last Lumia" smartphone , the Lumia 650 on February 1. After the launch of the Lumia 650 smartphone, the Redmond giant is said to concentrate on its Windows 10 Mobile-based Surface Phone range and will no longer launch smartphones under the Lumia moniker. Windows Central  reports that it has heard "multiple times" that the Lumia 650 may be the last Lumia. This is not the first time we have heard about the Surface Phone series from Microsoft. Last month, Chris Capossela, Chief Marketing Officer of Microsoft,  tipped  that the company may reveal the 'Surface' branded smartphone in the second-half of 2016. The new phone range is said to be powered by Intel processors instead of the Qualcomm chipsets. If this comes out to be true then this will be an end of era for Microsoft that launched its Lumia range of smartphone to compete other brands and platforms.  The report also s...
