BlackBerry Launches New 'Web-Based Facebook App' for BB10, BBOS Users

BlackBerry 10 customers can finally breathe a sigh of relief. The Canadian technology company says that it has worked with Facebook to launch an updated "web-based Facebook app" which people can use to continue enjoying the features of the BlackBerry 10 OS and BlackBerry OS app for Facebook. BlackBerry is now urging users to switch to the mobile Web client as soon as they get a moment. Facebook announced earlier this month that it was discontinuing support of their essential APIs for BlackBerry. The social giant noted that as of March 31, BlackBerry users will have to perform a mandatory update for the Facebook for BlackBerry app (for BB10, BBOS), which will take away a number of features from the app. BlackBerry now announces that it has worked with Facebook to create a new Web-based app. BlackBerry says that the two companies found making a Web-based app the "best solution" for their situation. You'll Soon be Able to Run Ubuntu on Windows 10: Report

In the past two years, under the realm of Satya Nadella, Microsoft has partnered with many of its competitors to embrace rival platforms. Working together, these companies have enabled new features and capabilities, enhancing user experience. A similar example is expected to be on display later on Wednesday when, according to a report, Microsoft will announce support for Ubuntu on Windows 10 at its Build conference. Microsoft has partnered with Canonical, the parent company of Ubuntu, reports ZDNet. As a result of the collaboration, Microsoft will announce on Wednesday that users will be able to run Ubuntu on Windows 10. The report follows recent speculation about users getting the option to run Bash shell on Windows 10. ZDNet claims that the collaboration between the two giants will bring "more than just that." Lava launches new dual-SIM phone at Rs 1,500

Homegrown smartphone-maker Lava has launched a new feature phone - KKT Ultra+ Union - which supports 22 official Indian languages. Priced at Rs 1500 , the new phone allows users to send and receive messages in 22 languages including Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, Dogri, Gujarati, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Maithili, Manipuri, Malayalam, Marathi, Nepali, Oriya, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Santali, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu. The phone has a 2.4-inch screen and includes a dual-SIM slot, with GSM operating frequency. It is packed with a 1750 mAh Li-ion battery that is claimed to offer talk time of 18 hours. The Lava KKT Ultra+ Union is equipped with a wireless FM support and comes with Bluetooth functionality. The phone will be available in black and grey colour variants. It comes with a one-year warranty for the device and 6 months warranty for accessories which include battery, headset and charger.

You can now post 60-second videos on Instagram

Instagram now lets users record up to 60 seconds of videos, up from the existing 15-second video length limit. "You'll soon have the flexibility to tell your story in up to 60 seconds of video. This is one step of many you’ll see this year," says Instagram in a blog post, adding, "In the last six months, the time people spent watching video increased by more than 40 percent." The company has rolled out the update, and it, as the company says, will be available for everyone in the coming months. Instagram, for iOS, is also bringing back the ability to make videos out of multiple clips from the camera roll. Multi-clip video is available this week as part of Instagram for iOS version 7.19 in Apple's App Store.
