During the launch of Redmi Note 3 smartphone in India, early this month, Xiaomi’s Vice President, Hugo Barra announced that its latest flagship smartphone- Xiaomi Mi 5 will be launched in India in a month. While Barra did not reveal the exact launch date or pricing of the device for the Indian market, company’s President Bin Lin has revealed the price range of its upcoming flagship smartphone.

In an interview with ET, Bin Lin hinted that the Mi 5 will be priced between Rs 20,000 and Rs 27,000. There is no word on whether the company will launch all the three variants-32GB, 64GB and 128GB, of the smartphone in India or not.

To recall, the Xiaomi Mi 5 was unveiled at MWC 2016 in Barcelona. The device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset paired with Adreno 530 GPU. It comes in three variants:

Snapdragon 820 2.15 GHz + 3GB RAM + 64GB storage + 3D curved glass body
Snapdragon 820 1.8GHz + 3GB RAM + 32GB storage + 3D curved glass body
The phone packs a 5.15-inch full HD display with 1920×1080 pixels resolution. It sports a 16 mega pixel primary camera with PDAF, Sony IMX298 sensor, 6P lens, 4-axis OIS and sapphire glass protection lens. There is also a 4 mega pixel front shooter for capturing selfies. The phone boasts of DTI isolation technology for better picture quality.

It features USB Type-C port and is fueled by a 3000mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 which the company claims to deliver up to 2.5 hours of talk time with just 5 minutes of charge. On software front, the Mi 5 runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow, wrapped under MIUI 7. It measures 144.5×69.2×7.25 mm, weighs just 129 grams and comes with a fingerprint sensor integrated into the home button.

With the HTC 10, the Taiwanese company is promising to undo the past wrongs in the cameras of its previous flagship phones. The camera has long a weak point in HTC devices. Freedom 251: 30,000 Units Sold, Components for Up to 2.5 Million Will Be Imported
