Yu Yutopia ‘World’s Most Powerful Smartphone’ To Feature Metal Body.

After setting up a registration page for the upcoming Yu Yutopia smartphone earlier this week, Yu Televentures has shared some details about its design. Yu has shared a teaser image on Twitter which shows a smartphone with metallic rear and shiny metallic frame and says ‘R.I.P Plastic and Sandstone, true power lies in metal’. The caption of the image is – ‘The Real Beast is metal. “Flagship” rivals may now become immaterial.”

Pricing and availability details of the Yu Yutopia have not been revealed yet. Reports, however suggest that it could be launched in time for Diwali. The unveiling of the device, thus, could take place in October 2015.

Yu Televentures is reportedly working on a new flagship smartphone, called the Yu Yutopia. BGR India has posted an image of the box of the device which says ‘The most powerful phone ever.’

Moreover, Yu’s co-founder and CEO Rahul Sharma has teased the device through a tweet on Twitter saying ‘After the minion monster #YUNIQUE can’t wait to present the #Real Beast. Let the countdown begin.’ If reports are to be believed, the Yutopia will be launched in time for Diwali which means that it could be unveiled as early as next month.

There is no word on specifications of the handset. A device code-named as YU5050, however, was leaked in benchmark results earlier this month. The YU5050 is believed to be Yu’s upcoming Yutopia smartphone which bears high-end specs. As far as specifications are concerned, it will be powered by a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor paired with Adreno 430 GPU and 4GB of RAM.

It is said to run Android 5.1.1 Lollipop based Cyanogen OS 12.1. It will sport a 5.2-inch Quad HD display with resolution of 2560×1440 pixels. Other specifications of the handset include 32GB of internal memory, 21 mega pixel rear camera with LED flash and an 8 mega pixel front facing camera. Besides 4G LTE support, it will offer Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS as connectivity options.

Freedom 251: 30,000 Units Sold, Components for Up to 2.5 Million Will Be Imported

Ringing Bells, the makers of the Rs. 251 smartphone - the Freedom 251 - confirmed to Gadgets 360 on Tuesday that it has still only accepted payments for 30,000 units of the phone. It also added that the components for these phones will be imported, and only assembled in India, not made here.
